Nino Brown "I Cant Wait"

Here is another tune I mixed for Jimmy "Klev" Juarez featuring Nino Brown and Klev's artist Lee Lee called "I Can't Wait". This is also the first hook I wrote that went to radio. I really feel like I could be a pretty good songwriter if I really start focusing on it. I've mixed quite a few records for Nino since 05' and I always feel good about how the tunes turn out. They're not overly complex so that leaves a lot of room to expand the sounds and get them nice and dialed-in. Leelee just smashes hooks and has a voice that cuts through records like butter so its pretty easy to get her sitting in a mix right. Take a listen to this tune and let me know what you think.

Dave Pensado Mixing Tips

I've been enjoying watching one of the masters of the craft tear down these mixes and show the little nuances that make up a good pop mix. This series of videos is worth watching if you're looking to take your mixing to the next level however, if you're a mixing "noob" you may want to get some experience under you're belt before you try to tackle what Dave is serving up here. These videos are going 90mph
and will probably fustrate you if you don't know what you're looking at. He uses protools for demonstration purposes but the techniques cross over to any DAW. take a look:

Marcus Marshall Cover of Grenade Ft. Dj Meech

Here is a video that was done a while back. Marcus Marshall is one of the writers I work with a lot here in Las Vegas and we got together one day at the studio and put this video down in literally 20 minutes. He's a terrific R&B artist and writer and just got back off a tour on the east coast this past spring. He was a little hoarse from recording the day before but I think it turned out pretty good. check it out.

Check out my good friend LEE LEE

I just finished recording and mixing on a project for a good friend of mine. Now she's on tour in the UK and hopefully tearing up the charts over there. She's one of the few artists I've seen come out of Las Vegas on this level. Please check out her website www.xoxoleelee.com and her music video. This song is produced by Jimmy Klev of Daywalker Records / El Mariachis who is also a good friend of mine. Support our Las Vegas Artists!
